Moholy-Nagys Photography In 1919, I lived in Vienna, confused among the low conformists of the postwar period. Coming from a farm in the hoidenish center of Hungary, I was less intrigued with the baroque pompousness of the Austrian capital than with the highly developed technology of industrial Germany. I went to Berlin. Many of my paintings of that period show the influence of the industrial decorate painting of Berlin. They were not projections of reality rendered with photographic eyes, but alternatively revolutionary structures, built up as my own reading of mold technology, reassembled from the dismantled parts. - Laszlo Moholy-Nagy Born on 1895 on the gravid homely of southern Hungary, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy followed a twisty path from a country country side to Szeged and then Budapest; then he went to Vienna, Berlin, Weimar, Dessau, Amsterdam, London and Chicago. However, it was during his stay in Germany, from 1920 to 1934, when he matured as an artist. It w as there where he make the significant constituent to material body and the discourse of modernism. Also, Moholys art evolved from a naïve grope through the lessons taught by Van Gogh, Cezanne, and the artists of the Ma throng.
